A stunning new design. A fun way to play together. And a more capable Apple Intelligence integrated into even more places. The WWDC25 Keynote gave us a glimpse of groundbreaking features coming to iOS 26. Here’s a recap.
Experience a gorgeous new design
Beautiful, delightful and instantly familiar, a universal design across platforms brings a new look to everything you see – and touch. It’s crafted with a new material called Liquid Glass, which reflects and refracts its surroundings while dynamically transforming to bring greater focus to your content. And it shines in system experiences, such as the Lock Screen, notifications and Control Centre.
Play together in the new Apple Games app
The Apple Games app is your all-in-one destination for the games you love and the friends you love to play them with. Get personalised suggestions for what to play next, browse can’t-miss events from your games, see what your friends are into and invite them to a custom Challenge. Apple Arcade’s incredible catalogue of more than 200 games – all without ads or in-app purchases – is here too.
Preview PDFs and create rich journal entries
Two powerful tools are coming to iPadOS. With Preview, view, edit and mark up PDFs and images with Apple Pencil. The Journal app lets you jot down your thoughts, illustrate and create entries in your own handwriting whenever inspiration strikes.
Tap into Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence is now integrated into even more apps. Automatically translate texts in Messages, display live-translated captions in FaceTime, and get spoken translations for calls in the Phone app. Intelligent actions in Shortcuts can summarise text, create images and more.
Streamline your communication
The Phone app – now available on macOS and iPadOS – is completely redesigned with a unified layout that brings Favourites, Recents and Voicemail into a single view. Screen unknown numbers before you answer with Call Screening, and with Hold Assist, keep your spot in line while you wait for a live agent. In Messages, create a poll to let the group chat decide.
Explore smartly
Maps learns the routes you travel regularly and can alert you about significant delays, even before you head out. And with Visited Places, never forget a place with the option to remember where you’ve been.
