QUEEN ELIZABETH PASSED AWAY

The British monarch Queen Elizabeth has passed away. She was 96 years of age. She passed away at the Queen's vacation home, Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Since October of last year, she has been receiving medical attention for health issues.

The first British monarch to reach 70 years in power is Queen Elizabeth. In 1952, Queen Elizabeth took the throne. In 1953, Westminster Abbey hosted the coronation. The queen was one of the richest women in the world.

She was born on 21 April 1926, the daughter of George VI (Duke of York) and Queen Elizabeth (Duchess of York).
Her name was Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. Elizabeth was born during the reign of George V, father and king of George VI.

After her father and uncle Edward, Elizabeth was third in line for the British throne. Edward succeeded George V as king after his death, but he abdicated following the divorce and the ensuing constitutional crisis. The British crown was then inherited by Elizabeth's father, George VI. After his death, his eldest daughter Elizabeth came to power.

Elizabeth came to power on February 6, 1952. The coronation took place on June 2, 1953. Elizabeth's husband is Prince Philip, who was born into the Greek Danish royal family. They got married in 1947. Philip passed away on April 9, 2021. The children of the next king were Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward. Diana Spencer, Prince Charles' first wife, died in a car crash in 1997. Later in 2005, Charles married Camilla Parker.

When the Queen passed away, Prince Charles was by her side. The heir apparent will be Prince Charles III, his son.
